Here we go with “supply chain issues” again. This time it’s French fries…
It started a few weeks ago with sporadic outages, but now we’re really starting to feel the effects. All of our suppliers are completely out of stock, and they have no idea why.
When we did an internet search to try to figure out what’s going on, we learned that potato shortages are currently having a major impact on some businesses as far away as Japan (Yes, especially McDonalds), and they’re blaming it on “supply chain issues” in the United States, from which they receive their stock. So, we’re guessing it’s only a matter of time before it becomes headline news over here.
What does that mean for us? Well, we have “some” fries on board, but not much. Possibly up to 20 orders. And, when they’re gone, we just don’t know when they’re coming back. Maybe a couple of days, or possibly longer.
So what to do? Well, we can tell you what we’re NOT going to do. We’re NOT going to cut back on portion size, nor will we raise our prices. We’ll make all of our options available ’til we run out, then we’ll hope we can get our hands on more supply soon.
And yes, it’ll be first come, first served.
