We’re bringing a taste of Southeast Asia to the San Francisco Bay Area!

Thank you for visiting By The Bay SF. We are a family-owned food truck and catering business founded in 2000 by Elly Suraya Greenfield and her husband, David. Elly was born and raised in Singapore, where she learned the art of traditional Singaporean Malay cooking by helping her mother prepare meals for parties and large family gatherings.

Our signature dish is Singapore-style chicken satay. We use only halal meat, marinated overnight, hand-skewered on bamboo sticks, and grilled fresh to order. Each serving comes with cucumber and onion, rice, and our homemade peanut sauce—a cherished family recipe passed down from Elly’s grandmother.

In addition to our traditional offerings, we serve a selection of fusion dishes inspired by Singaporean flavors with a Western twist. Customer favorites include our Satay Sandwich, Singapore Chilli Crab Sandwich, and the ever-popular Chilli Crab Garlic Fries.

We’re proud to be vegan- and vegetarian-friendly as well. Our classic Tahu Goreng (fried tofu) remains a staple, and our fried tofu sandwich—introduced in 2025—has quickly become a favorite among plant-based diners.

Singapore-style chicken satay is the main attraction. All of our meat is halal. Marinated overnight, then placed on bamboo skewers, and grilled fresh to order. Served with cucumber & onion, rice, and homemade peanut sauce whose recipe was handed down by Elly’s grandmother. 

Our Tahu Goreng is a Southeast Asian vegetarian delight. Fried tofu served with peanut sauce, cucumber, carrots, and sprouts.
