Welcome to Satay By the Bay SF

Food Truck and Catering Business bringing Singapore 🇸🇬 satay to the Bay Area

Having been in the insurance industry for 30 years and then leave to pursue a passion of a totally different field, I have to tell you, is NERVE WRECKING.

Just like when I moved here almost 20 years ago, it required a lot of research, business planning, financial planning before the execution. The act of pulling the trigger was always the hardest and most emotional.

I did not leap with uncertainty of succeeding, I leaped knowing that I will work hard to make this business a successful one.

My husband knows that I worked to be one of the top insurance agents a few years ago cos of my passion and the family reaped the benefit from my passion. Same goes with this. Cooking is my passion, I cook with my heart and filling people’s tummies gives me the satisfaction and happiness. When I was helping my mom with her catering business at age 13, I told her I would never step in the kitchen when I became an adult…I lied.

Someone wanted a picture of me on my first pop up. She didn’t know me. She said ‘Let’s take a picture together. So that one day when you’re famous, I can say that I was one of the first to try her food here’. No, I don’t want to be famous. I just want to feed people with the food knowledge and skills that I have learned from my mom.

And…with the power of my grandmother’s peanut sauce, nothing will stop me from chasing my passion, except unless God throws me a curve ball.

Also, I would have never made this decision if I didn’t have a strong and a hardcore business minded partner, co worker, advocate, who is none other than my husband.
